At Adah’s Beauty consultations are a part of our policy. This is the time we get to meet our clients for the first time, and  to better serve them the day of their appointment. We discuss some of the following: hair extensions, styles, prices and any other concerns or questions we, or they might have.  This helps saves time and energy on the actual appointment day.

 PREPARING BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

2009-08-04 17.55.33_wm

    INTERLOCKS

In most circumstances not everyone getting their hair braided or weaved-in are 100% prepared  the same day of their appointment. It is absolutely understandable. Life can be a challenge at times, especially for us women.  Between juggling work, taking care of family, and trying to look beautiful at the same time, I totally get it. When it comes to the word “HAIR”!!!; LADIES, we can all relate. Especially my Black Queens and Princesses.

This is why Adah’s Beauty is always here to ease the stress off you and “Your Hair”. We are here to always make you the Beautiful Queen and Princess that you are. We promise you, when you walk through our doors, you will always leave happy, and smiling with confidence because “We Put A Beautiful Smile On You”.

Preparing for hair braiding or weaving can be very challenging especially if you have an existing hairstyle that needs to be taken down prior to your appointment. Not only that, a shampoo, conditioning and blow drying of your hair is required as well. All this process takes hours to complete, if you decide to do it yourself, depending on the length, and texture of your hair. Some people starts to take down their braids a few days early before their next appointment and don’t finish  on time before their appointment date. This is not a brilliant idea…..except you can do it properly and quicker without breakage.

However, If you decide to come prepared before your  appointment, the following procedures must be followed:

  1. Previous hair styles  should be completely removed and hair properly combed out, removing all knots and build up to prevents tangling and breakage.
  2. Shampoo, conditioned and combed through thoroughly before blow drying. Apply 2 or 3 drops of lotion or oil to damp hair before blow drying using a blow dryer with an attached comb.
  3. Do not apply anything to your hair after drying for various reasons which we will discuss with you when you come in for a consult.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us. We are just a phone call  or email away.

Adah’s Beauty, offers take down services  to our clients in case they need one, and a complimentary shampoo and conditioning service after taking down. An Appointment will be required for these services. No walk-ins please, as that saves us time, energy, and excellent preparation before your new hairstyle. We will not take down any hair styles that has already been started on, neither do we take down for styles that we did nit do. This  service is only prioritized to our clients. We apologize for any inconveniences.

Note : Whether you are taking down braids, weaves, or extensions of any kind, or wearing your own natural hair, it must be properly detangled and combed out before shampooing to remove any build-ups from the roots.

We will also provide you with instructions on care and maintenance of your beautiful and unique hairstyle during and after services. If you have any questions please, be comfortable to ask during and after your service.

A little note of instructions on “How to Shampoo Your Braids/Weaves”

Shampooing Braids or Weaves can sometimes be a very challenging and complicating process, especially if you do not have any idea of what to do. Many of our clients usually asks us these questions. ” DO I NEED TO WASH MY BRAIDS?”  or “HOW DO I WASH MY BRAIDS?” Yes ladies, for the former, we need to wash our braids at least one a month. For the latter, continue reading…

ALL hairstyles with extensions needs to be shampooed by a professional hair stylist to protect the style to last longer. However, if you decide to do it yourself below are some instructions to follow especially if you have micro braids where  in most  cases your natural hair is not braided all the way down.

These instructions are for weaves and Micro Braids:

  • Comb hair or run fingers through several times.
  • Sectioned hair into four or five sections and braid only the loose hair of the extensions. Braids must be very loose about 2 inches away from the scalp to be able to massage your scalp when shampooing.
  • Hold the ends of  braids with small rubber bands or hair bands to prevent from unraveling. Shampoo as usual .

More instructions will be provided the day of your appointment.
